Court sets dates for ‘finfluencer’ trials

The FCA has charged nine individuals in connection with an unauthorized forex trading scheme advertised on social media, and trials are now set to proceed.

On July 11, 2024, during a plea and trial preparation hearing at Southwark Crown Court, Holly Thompson, Biggs Chris, Jamie Clayton, Lauren Goodger, Rebecca Gormley, Yazmin Oukhellou, and Scott Timlin all pleaded not guilty to a charge of issuing unauthorized financial promotions.

Emmanuel Nwanze also pleaded not guilty to charges of providing advice on buying and selling contracts for difference (CFDs) without authorization and issuing unauthorized financial promotions.

Eva Zapico did not enter a plea at this time, with a further plea hearing scheduled for September 26, 2024.

Due to court availability, trial dates have been set for February 1, 2027, and March 15, 2027, at Southwark Crown Court, the earliest dates the court could accommodate this case.
