The FCA and PSR Boards have appointed Alison Potter as the new chair of the FCA’s Regulatory Decisions Committee (RDC) and the PSR’s Enforcement Decisions Committee (EDC).
The RDC and EDC play a crucial role in making certain regulatory decisions for the FCA and PSR. Members are chosen for their ability to make independent, evidence-based decisions rooted in experience and expertise.
Alison Potter’s appointment comes as Tim Parkes, the current chair, prepares to step down later this year. She will assume her new role on 1 November 2024, with a brief transition period alongside Mr. Parkes to ensure continuity.
Bernadette Conroy, FCA non-executive director and chair of the FCA’s Risk Committee, commented:
“I am thrilled to welcome Alison as the new RDC and EDC chair. Her extensive knowledge and experience, particularly in financial services and strategic decision-making, will strengthen the committees’ effectiveness and capabilities.
“Tim Parkes has given nearly nine years of exceptional leadership and service as chair of the RDC and EDC, and I would like to thank him for his commitment and invaluable contributions to the committees’ important work.”
